1. Information we handle and why

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with the LIGHTDANCE website and associated short-drama Mini Programs that expressly link to this Policy. A feature-specific notice will explain any additional processing before it begins. This Policy describes our practices; simply reading it does not give consent to optional processing.

Website requests and technical records

When your browser requests a page, image or video, our hosting infrastructure receives the IP address and request information needed to deliver that resource. Server records may contain the requested URL, date and time, response status, browser user-agent and referring page when your browser sends one. These records support delivery, troubleshooting, security and abuse prevention. An IP address is not an exact GPS location, but it can be personal information.

Information you send to us

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any name, company details, attachments or contact information you choose to include. We use these to respond, discuss a project and keep necessary business records. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless we have explained why it is needed and how it will be handled.

Mini Program features, where enabled

If an associated Mini Program uses platform authorization, viewing history or rewarded advertisements, the relevant feature may process a platform-provided identifier, authorized profile details, playback progress, content identifiers, ad-completion events and technical diagnostics. Only information needed for the enabled feature may be processed, as described in its notice and permission flow. We do not obtain your platform password.

Cookies, analytics and sensitive information

The current portfolio website does not implement advertising trackers, analytics SDKs, account registration or persistent viewing-history storage. Media are served from our website. Browser caching and temporary player state support playback. Optional cookies, analytics or personalization added later require an updated notice and any consent required by law.

We do not ask website visitors for identity documents, precise location, health information or other sensitive personal information. If a future feature requires sensitive information, we will explain the necessity, relevant effects and legal basis and obtain separate consent where required.

Basis for processing

We process information only on a basis available under the law that applies, such as handling a requested service or contract, fulfilling legal duties, or obtaining consent where needed. Where applicable law recognizes legitimate interests, necessary site security and administration may rely on that basis after considering your rights. Optional permissions are not a condition for unrelated services.

2. Service providers and disclosure

We use infrastructure providers to host the website and deliver media, and an email service to receive and answer messages. Our current website is hosted on a Volcengine server in Hong Kong; our contact mailbox is provided through Gmail (Google). These providers receive the information necessary for their respective services and may have separate privacy obligations and policies.

The current website does not include the TikTok Minis Drama JS SDK or rewarded-ad partners. If an associated Mini Program uses platform SDKs or advertising services, their identities, data categories, purposes and privacy notices must be disclosed with the relevant feature. Platform processing is also subject to its own policy, such as TikTok's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal information or share website visitor information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We limit service-provider access to what is needed for the task and require appropriate protections when processing is entrusted to a provider.

We may disclose information to comply with a valid legal obligation or to protect rights, investigate misuse and respond to a security incident, only to the extent justified under applicable law. A transfer connected with a reorganization or sale of the business must remain subject to appropriate privacy protections and any notice or consent legally required.

3. Your rights and choices

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access to or a copy of your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or portability, and may object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent for future processing where we rely on consent; withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.

We may ask for proportionate information to verify the request and protect another person's data. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, and explain any lawful reason a request cannot be fulfilled in full. You may complain to the data protection authority competent for your location.

For platform-managed permissions or an associated account, use the controls available in that platform as well. If a control is missing or you need help with information held by us, contact us directly. You do not need to delete a third-party account to request deletion of information that LIGHTDANCE holds.

The current website has no account or saved personal watch history to delete. You may manage browser cache and site permissions through your browser. There is no penalty for making a privacy request.

4. Storage, retention and security

Website files and the website server are hosted in Hong Kong. Our operator is based in Shanghai, and authorized personnel may handle business inquiries from China. Email and third-party platform services may process information in other locations under their own service arrangements. The processing location depends on the Service and provider involved.

When a cross-border transfer requires a particular safeguard, assessment, notice or separate consent, we will satisfy the applicable requirements before making that transfer. Any additional Mini Program processing location and recipient information will be provided in the applicable feature-specific notice.

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for its purpose, taking account of the type of record, open inquiries or projects, security investigations, and applicable legal retention duties. When information is no longer needed and deletion is permitted, we delete or anonymize it. Where deletion must be deferred, we limit further use to permitted retention and protection.

Our website uses HTTPS for transport encryption. We use access restrictions and reasonable operational safeguards to protect information. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal-information incident occurs, we will take appropriate remedial steps and make notifications required by applicable law.

5. Children's privacy

The studio website is intended for a general and business audience and is not directed to children. Associated Mini Programs must follow the age requirements of their host platform and applicable law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age threshold without the required parental or guardian authorization. This includes children under 14 where Chinese law applies, and under 13 where relevant United States children's privacy law applies. If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately, contact Yang Chen so we can review and, where required, delete it or take other protective steps.

We may update this Policy when the Services, providers or legal requirements change. The latest version is available at this URL with its effective and last-updated date. We will provide additional notice of material changes and seek renewed consent where the law requires it before applying a new processing purpose.

This English version is provided for our international audience. Translations may be supplied for convenience; mandatory language and disclosure requirements remain applicable.
